What you will enjoy doing* - This role reports to the Assistant Treasurer who oversees pension assets of Linde plc's material pension plans totaling >$8 Billion in 6 jurisdictions, as well as the capital markets team who manages the funding of Linde plc, global financial risk (FX, interest rates), investments of short-term liquidity, the share repurchases and other ad hoc projects to support the businesses and the objectives of Linde plc globally from a Treasury perspective; The team is split between Danbury (CT, US) and Munich (DE)
- In this role you will manage and support Treasury related projects to ensure successfulimplementation, value creation and process improvement
- Your initial responsibilities will be focused on managing the implementation of the OutsourcedChief Investment Officer (OCIO) strategy for Linde's main Pension Plans as wellas managing all ongoing local and global pension investment requirements underTreasury's responsibility
- In addition, you will be responsible for identifying process improvements related topension investment oversight that will drive stability and efficiency on ago-forward basis
- After the OCIO and optimizedpension investment processes are fully implemented and integrated, you will be responsible for supporting Global Treasury in otherareas, such as Cash Management, FX, DCM, which will lead to the opportunity to further develop within Treasury or the wider Lindefinance organization
- Project manage the implementation of the OCIO strategy for the Linde pension plans in 6 countries (CA+CH+DE+IE+UK+US), work with VP, Tax and Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer to define the corporate pension investment strategy, ensure that the global pension investment strategy and the corporate objectives are clearly communicated and represented at the local pension plan level
- You will support strategies to minimize future pension contributions, optimize P&L impact (minimize charge/ increase benefit), work towards improving the funding level of the pension plans while maintaining an appropriate risk/return profile
- You will control the performance of the investment strategy against the agreed benchmark for all plans, oversee the relationship between the OCIO provider and Linde ensuring the service level is appropriate at all levels: investments, risk management, reporting, communication, etc. both locally and globally
- You will ensure proper communication is maintained between the OCIO provider, Corporate, local plan sponsors, trustees, investment committees, actuaries, accounting, HR, etc. on pension investment related matters, as well as ensure proper communication is maintained between the OCIO provider, Corporate, local plan sponsors, trustees, investment committees, actuaries, accounting, HR, etc. on pension investment related matters
What makes you great - You have a degree in Finance/Accounting/Economics, Master's degree preferred, plus 10 years of professional experience with an MNC or bank with corporate finance and Treasury experience; CPA and/or CFA is a plus
- You have a proven project management track record of successful leadership and implementation of cross-functional projects
- A strong understanding of global financial markets & macroeconomics, knowledge about the full range of traditional asset classes and their implementation in a diversified investment portfolio
- You have the ability to lead people with no formal reporting lines and interact with senior leadership (Linde Plc, Investment Committees, Trustees, etc.)
- Knowledge of occupational pension systems, pension accounting and regulation in the major pension countries is a plus,
willingness to network within Linde (internal), Treasury and wider banking and investment industry (external)
