Job description

First Physicians Group of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking to employ two   OB/GYNs  for the highly desirable areas of Sarasota and Venice, Florida. We are located approximately 60 minutes south of Tampa and 1.5 hours north of Ft. Myers on the West Coast of Florida. Our OB/GYNs see patients in the clinic setting, provide surgical services in the hospital OR, and collaborate with our employed OB Hospitalist group who provide 24/7 coverage of the ED and any unassigned expectant mothers.

Sarasota Memorial Hospital (SMH) , listed among U.S. News 50 Best Hospitals for Obstetrics/Gynecology Care for 2023-2024 performed 4,199 deliveries in 2022. For 2023, Sarasota Memorial also received level III Maternal Care Verification from the Joint Commission, in collaboration with the American College of Obstetrics. SMH is the systems 901-bed flagship facility with a CMS 5-star rating for its overall quality and is the only hospital in Florida and one of just 33 across the nation to maintain its top rating since 2016.

  Sarasota Memorial Hospital Venice opened in October 2021and has an average of 35 deliveries a month. Due to the growth and the needs of the south county community, work is already under way on a third patient care tower adding 68 private patient suites to its existing 110 and expanding both the Emergency Department and OR. SMH-Venice was designed with the future in mind and has the capacity to more than double in size to 400 beds, 16 surgical suites and a 50-bed ER!

Required Qualifications:

• Board Eligible or Board Certified
• Licensed in Florida and holds a current DEA Certificate
• Graduate of an ACGME accredited OB/GYN program
