Project Policy Analyst 2 FCI (PROJECT POLICY ANL 2) - School of Nursing

Job Summary

This position will serve as the Project Policy Analyst 2 for multiple research projects within the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. Under the general oversight of assigned PI or project director, the position will coordinate and manage activities to achieve the research deliverables of the grant. This position will apply professional concepts to conduct analytical studies or projects of moderate scope and complexity to address a variety of policy, research and procedural issues. The project policy analyst fully analyzes issues and problems, gathers data and information, finds and evaluates alternatives and makes sound recommendations. For some projects the incumbent will be required to collect data in the community, including within the Health System. This position will also assist with administrative tasks to support the research mission of the school, including scheduling meetings, coordinating research seminars, as well as other program related tasks. The position reports to the Research Director of the school of nursing.

Minimum Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of program oversight or research coordination experience (preferably in a health-related field).
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience in coordinating all aspects of both small and large meetings and events.
• Independent decision-making abilities to work with ambiguities where clear guidelines are not present; demonstrated skills to identify issues, provide recommendations, and seek resources to develop solutions.
• Proficient in data collection and analysis, including survey development, coding, and auditing interview and focus group transcripts.
• Demonstrated skills to design and maintain an organized system for data from the various sources to collect, manage and analyze data from key informant interviews, focus groups, pre- and post- surveys, and service outcomes.
• Mastery of Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), including development of graphs and other data visualization functions. Database development and management skills are strongly desired, but not required.
• Excellent organizational skills to work under frequent interruptions; to independently establish priorities, anticipate job requirements, organize work flow to work effectively to achieve timely progress on project and meet deadlines Ability to function well autonomously and with a great deal of flexibility in a fastpace working environment; strong initiative and work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to interact tactfully and diplomatically with a diverse group of people, representing various ethnic, cultural, language, educational, socioeconomic and political views.
• Critical thinking and analytical skills necessary to assess potentially controversial or sensitive situations, gather facts, data and information, make recommendations for action, and deliver final product, often under short deadlines pressure.
• Proven ability to collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders;
• Demonstrated experience working with diverse community members.
• Position is expected to be self sufficient with regard to routine clerical duties, e.g. filing, word processing, photo copying, faxing

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in health-related field Demonstrated experience in interviewing via phone, video or in-person.
• Experience with UC Davis IRB process
• Expertise with Qualtrics, Dedoose or other research focused programs.
