Job Title : Social Worker – FMLA Leave
Start Date: March 13, 2024 – May 17, 2024, Placement opportunities available once assignment is completed.
Work Hours: Full time hours
Caseload: less than 30 Elementary School Students
Job Details:
Seeking a Licensed School Social Worker to work with an elementary school population near Naperville, IL.
To succeed in this role, you must have great communication and counseling skills. You should have the ability to connect and empathize with students and understand the root of their problems. If you are compassionate and you love helping others, we’d like to hear from you.
We are now scheduling interviews to take place THIS WEEK! This position will start March 2024 and end May 2024, with placement opportunities within the school district, dependent upon performance once the assignment is complete.
Direct service:
- Manage student crises including those involving DCFS and SASS. This includes post-crisis follow up, tracking of crises and acting as a liaison with outside providers
- Provide direct counseling/social work services to students one-on-one and in groups.
- Meet with parents to provide resources on parenting, outside services, etc.
- Observe students in the classroom and consult with teachers on concerns
- Collaborate, troubleshoot and communicate with students, parents/guardians, school leaders, and community stakeholders
- Attend discipline meetings for students with multiple behavior concerns
- Manage outside social service providers that come to Moving Everest to provide services to scholars including those provided by the By the Hand Social Worker during school hours
- Consult with after school partner By the Hand staff on student concerns with consideration for applicable mental health confidentiality law
Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS):
- Collaborate with teachers, MTSS team, and administration on Multi-Tier System of Supports for students who need intensive behavioral supports
- Develop, monitor and implement tier 2 and 3 interventions with MTSS team support and input
Restorative Practices (RP):
- Mediate student conflicts
- Consult with discipline team and Principal/Assistant Principal
Requirements
- A Masters degree in social work.
- PEL Certification with School Social Work endorsement, PEL 181/ Type 73
