Job description

The primary responsibilities of the Director of Business development and Insights are to ensure quarterly revenue targets, brand goals, and other commercial metrics are met. This includes architecting, measuring, and reporting on sales and marketing strategies for growth. This role is integral in facilitating integrated business planning to ensure the development of strategic, actionable, and aligned business plans and driving execution through to the customer. Based in AZ or on the West Coast, this role requires collaborating and partnering with cross-functional teams to drive strategic long-term sustainable growth.

Lead Sales Deliverable for S&OP & Strategy

Channel/ Customer Planning - Establish regional priorities, objectives, and strategies to company objectives within defined brand strategies. Responsible for the review and approval of customer/ channel/platform plans.

Accelerate Sales growth, and sales Velocity through Distribution, Assortment and Pricing goals by supporting effective execution with field sales team and strategic customers.

Works with business development insights to generate monthly scorecards and customizes with top line observations for E-team, Sales Managers, Marketing and other stakeholders

Works with Director of Business Development & Insights to generate quarterly shipments vs category review/reporting to guide forecast management, new business, and NPI opportunities

Identifies sales opportunities that exist within specific platforms, national retailers and foodservice providers, and all other regional customer bases and markets, building data to support sales growth

Develops & deploys corporate initiatives and budget process relative to volume/ consumption.

Meets regularly with Sales Mangers to provide data and meaningful observations for sales forecast/ demand planning inputs and S&OP call preparation

Provide input into Long Term Innovation and Capacity Planning

Work closely with the brand teams to manage through SKU rationalization and dispositions

Pricing & Assortment/ Mix Management

Profitability Budgeting - Develop pricing strategy/tactics for all product groups to ensure proper sales execution to meet volume and margin mix goals.

Monitor execution and analysis of trade plans, communicate results, and make strategic recommendations

Deliver ROI - develop customer playbooks involving price and portfolio assortment (including innovation) to guide the planning process

Coordinate post-promotional analysis on a key customer basis to assess the impact of promotions and make appropriate adjustments to refine and improve.

New Product Launches/ PMO

Serve as sales team departmental voice on the development of launch strategy

Serve as customer voice in product development meetings

Works with sales team to complete forecast tools.

Participate in the development of new item launch and develop sales collateral

Create category selling solutions for our customers

Recommend any new product innovation needs to penetrate new channels/customers

Brand & Customer Marketing

Leads development of brand roadmap with SVP to guide Footprint brand investment strategies and tactics

Leads development of all customer marketing materials, including pitch/ stump decks, sell sheets, digital/ hard catalogues, and brochures

Provides customer perspective into category strategy development

Integrates Category Strategy stories in line review and related customer presentations
