We are seeking an experienced, full-time Associate Attorney to join our Norwalk, CT office. The ideal candidate has a track record of succinct, typo-free document drafting, a “leave no stone unturned” approach to legal research, and can think out-of-the-box while seamlessly holding themselves to a level of excellence. The Associate Attorney must be a great listener, take pride in delivering on being accountable to others, and have a great sense of humor. We are a process-oriented, regulatory compliance law firm poised for rapid growth and we are seeking an experienced professional who can support our team primarily in the areas of FDA-regulated matters governing tobacco and vapor products, US Customs regulatory affairs, and business mitigation risk. Compensation-$102,000 to $128,000/year plus paid vacation/sick time and medical benefits, 401(k), all federal holidays off, and professional learning program. Responsibilities: • The core mission of the Associate Attorney is to research, analyze and draft legal documents in a ready-to-deliver fashion, be it for a client, government agency, or internally • Associate attorneys are expected to spend the majority of their time on client work. You are also expected to implement, improve and ensure adherence to the Firm’s policies and procedures to reflect the Firm’s high standards • To be successful in this position requires the right combination of advanced analytical research and writing skills, confidence, humility, and an ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines Qualifications: This is not an entry-level position. Prior law firm experience as an attorney is a must and direct engagement with clients is preferred. JD from a US law school is required, as is bar admission in the States of Connecticut, New York, and/or Oregon. • License to practice law within the states of NY, CT, and/or OR • Demonstrated successful drafting of legal documents, free of errors of all kinds (yes, we mean ALL kinds) be they grammatical, spelling, syntax-related, a lack of clarity, or otherwise • Strong organization and clarity in the presentation of your position and arguments in your writing • Extensive experience in using the CFR and USC • An insatiable curiosity about life • Get a kick out of thinking critically • Manage your time like a champ • A penchant for following instructions and working well with rules • No fears about asking for help and exposing a lack of clarity or uncertainty about a task to perform • Engage in a leave-no-stone-unturned level of research • An ability to distill dense information and turn it into something your next-door neighbor’s kid could understand • You do not rely on ChatGPT to do your work for you Your Core Competencies: • Follow (all of the) instructions given to you • Return deliverables on or before the deadline • Ability to think of other items in need of addressing and recommending them to your team • High level of integrity and personal accountability • Self-driven • Strong communication skills • Hold a standard of excellence • Think broadly/big picture • Meticulous in delivering a high-quality work product To Apply: We are looking to fill this position immediately. Please note that 3 References will be requested and checked in advance of making an offer.
