Job Title: Sports Instructor

Branch: Eastern Community YMCA

Position Type: Part-Time

Pay: $11.00 per hour

General Function

The Eastern Community YMCA Sports Instructor will be available during their scheduled youth sports activities. This person is an advocate for YMCA Core Values and assists in carrying out the YMCA/JCC of Greater Toledo's Mission Statement. This individual will ensure a great environment and act as a liaison between volunteer coaches and the Program Director.

Qualifications

Knowledge about sports and ability to lead others. Strong communication and teamwork skills. At least 16 years old.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Understand and demonstrate the YMCA/JCC philosophy and core values.
  2. Be ready to work at scheduled times.
  3. Referee youth sports games.
  4. Coach youth sports teams of all ages and sports; flag football, cross country, basketball, etc.
  5. Supervise the gym to ensure all rules are being followed.
  6. Set up any necessary equipment needed for youth sports practices.
  7. Act as a liaison between members and the Program Director.
  8. Help volunteer coaches with practices.
  9. Responsible for maintenance of program equipment
  10. Assist in volunteer recruitment.
  11. Start and end youth sports games on time.
  12. Help distribute necessary fliers as it pertains to the YMCA
