Position Summary

As a Communications and Marketing Associate, you will play a vital role in engaging with the public, partner organizations, policymakers, and donors across all of our programmatic initiatives. Your responsibilities include creating engaging digital content aligned with our values, managing social media campaigns, interpreting analytics, occasional website maintenance, and supporting fundraising efforts. You will also collaborate with program staff to develop and implement communication strategies, representing us in coalitions and relationships with clients and partners.

This position offers opportunities for creative digital media efforts to advance our advocacy work. Strong attention to detail, independence, and relationship-building skills are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or related field, with 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
Knowledge of Western U.S. environmental issues.
Experience in or understanding of frontline or resource-dependent communities.
Commitment to equity, inclusion, and justice in communications strategies.
Excellent writing skills and familiarity with AP style.
Proficiency in social media management, graphics creation, and basic video content.
Familiarity with website CMS (WordPress) and Google Analytics.
Strong project and time management skills.

Benefits and Compensation

We offer a flexible, team-based environment with competitive salaries ($53,000-65,000), depending on experience and location. Our benefits package includes health, vision, dental, life, and disability coverage, a 401(k) retirement plan with a 4% match, generous paid leave, and a sabbatical leave policy.
