Job description
Bachoco OK Foods is seeking a Maintenance Automation Technician for our Fort Smith, AR facility .
Summary Primary duties are to perform installation, maintenance, repair and calibration on all electrical equipment in the plant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Troubleshoot and maintain programmable logic controllers.
- Must demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and repair all types of electrical and electronic equipment with limited supervision.
- Must be proficient in mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulic equipment, and electrical and welding skills.
- Must be able to accept written and verbal direction from supervisor as well as provide written detail about work performed.
- Must be proficient in 120, 208, 240, and 480 VAC circuits.
- Must be proficient in DC voltages and circuits.
- Must be proficient in circuit breakers, line diagrams, schematics and blueprints.
- Proper use of volt/ohm meter, megohmmeter, analog and digital meters.
- How to properly install 120 VAC male plugs, female cord caps, receptacles, light switches / motors.
- Must be proficient in the use of basic hand and power tools.
- Must be proficient in troubleshooting of equipment in an industrial environment which includes mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical components/equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with company employees and all levels of management.
- Familiar with the safe operation of production line conveyor equipment.
- Must be able to maintain prompt and regular job attendance.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- This is a safety sensitive position.
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma / GED required
- Documented technical training preferred
- Minimum 6 months cumulative industrial maintenance experience or equivalent training required.

- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
