Job description
The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (A Fair Opportunity Employer) seeking to hire a Field Enumerator to conduct agricultural survey data collection in Centre County.
The job consists of collecting agricultural data by personal and telephone interviews of farmers and agri-businesses. This is a part-time intermittent position.
Excellent organizational skills and agricultural background a plus.
Applicants must be able to operate a computer/iPad, walk a quarter mile, have a valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance and provide own transportation.
Starting salary is $17.20 per hour plus mileage reimbursement per mile for travel. After a 6 month probationary period, the salary increases.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Interview area farmers in person or by telephone for the purpose of completing questionnaires. Ask specific questions, record answers on iPad, sometimes paper and assist farmers with completing form. Deliver timely, detailed, legible records of interviews, mileage, and hours. Work independently from your residence, but most of the work will be meeting farmers in person out in the field.
Must have own car with adequate insurance and clean driving record.
Travel for training, requiring overnight stay once to twice a year - time, mileage and per deim to cover costs.
Work with your supervisor communicating about your field and phone work, and also smaller trainings with them based on work assigned.

WORK SCHEDULE
This part-time field service position works a flexible schedule that may include some evenings, weekends, and holidays . Weather, seasonal farm responsibilities, and community functions may affect work hours.
