The Vehicle Motion and Embedded Controls – Evolving Business (VMEC-EB) organization is looking for Software Design and Release Engineer who will be responsible for the development, validation, and deployment of embedded controller products specific to

1. Chassis controllers outsourced SW (Driveline)

2. Chassis controllers outsourced SW (ARS &ICCM)

The SW DRE role requires an engineer with solid experience in electronic embedded controllers. You will be a member of a product development team that is focused on the delivery of high quality, validated outsourced software for one or more of GM’s future electric and/or ICE-based vehicle platforms. You will be responsible for managing embedded controller system software development, integration, validation, and deployment. Key engagement will occur between the supplier-based software delivery team, supplier residents, product owners, and vehicle program leadership. This role will have a high level of responsibility and performance will be measured on the quality and on-time deployment of assigned software and achieving business goals for software problem resolution, vehicle safety, warranty cost, quality, and service.

About VMEC

Our organization is at the center of any technology that enables the vehicle to move, turn and stop. VMEC-EB is responsible for the development and deployment of complex embedded control system software. We specialize in software specific to propulsion, body and chassis control systems utilizing the principles of the Scaled Agile Framework. These controllers support cutting edge features, such active safety, autonomous, trailer braking, and crab walk. The race is on to deliver engaging, meaningful in-vehicle experiences! This space is ripe with technical leadership opportunities for advanced technology development, as well as the ability to provide mentorship for new employees. You can flex your teamwork muscles as you will be tasked with collaborating with several other areas of engineering and business units.

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report onsite at the GM Global Technical Center - Cole Engineering Center Tower or Milford Proving Ground - Bldg 31 - GPS Emissions three times per week, at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.
