Working/Functional Title

Assistant Medical Director

Position Summary

The Assistant Medical Director will provide direct clinical care as well as administrative oversight to support the Executive Director of Campus Health Services in University Health and Wellbeing.

In administrative support to the medical director this position will consult on policy development, serve on the quality medical care, consult on clinical guidelines. 

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired through completion of more than three years of study beyond a four-year college degree, such as a Medical Doctorate or Osteopathic Doctorate degree; up to six months of related experience in a clinical environment after completion of residency; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and a license from the Michigan Board of Pharmacy and either the Michigan Board of Medicine or the Michigan Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery; and board certification in the appropriate specialty.

Desired Qualifications

One year of experience in a clinical environment after completion of residency including emergency medicine, suturing of lacerations, fracture management, preventative, chronic and acute primary care medicine and women's health; experience in health education involving college age adults; experience in peer review and accreditation. Experience in development of clinical policy and supervision of clinical staff.
