Job Description NBCUniversal is looking for an Inventory Manager to join our Studio Services team in Universal City, California.
In this role, you will have ownership over the inventory accuracy, and manage the strategy and global inventory levels for the studio services department. You must enhance and deliver a robust cycle count program to maintain accurate inventory including root cause analysis and resolution maintaining accurate inventory counts for multiple locations within the United States and Internationally. This includes investigating inventory variances between physical and system inventory, reviews adjustments, shortage/over/damage reports. This role will require strong analytical skills and a strong understanding of warehouse management, core systems, and the entertainment industry. You will provide Finance and upper management with a strategic approach for equipment purchasing while reducing cost.
What You’ll Do - Set inventory strategy and align global inventory levels for the studio services department to meet appropriate levels and balance cost to meet budgetary goals
- Evaluate and analyze inventory reports, deliveries, shipments, trends, and product levels to improve inventory control procedures
- Manage inventory tracking system to record deliveries, shipments, and stock levels
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to execute inventory related tasks across all locations such as equipment transfer, cycle counts/physical inventory, purchasing decisions, and handling damaged gear
- Lead workshops that include our operations teams and any cross-functional stakeholders to determine controls gaps and/or continuous improvement opportunities
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the department in conjunction with any new system functionality to ensure process stability and consistency; build out training content to support the rollout of these procedures to the appropriate audiences
- Support Capital Asset requests in partnership with finance, understanding the impact of Inventory Adjustments on Profitability
- Work closely with the Marketing Team to strategize equipment purchases for future business growth while monitoring demand and analyzing data to anticipate future supply and logistical needs
- Report on inventory levels, procedural efficiency, and operational performance to leadership
- Manage the recruitment and training of new inventory employees
- Maintain an existing database of equipment and their condition while monitoring needs for repair and inspection
- Monitor and effectively track capital purchases from ordering, receiving, posting and invoice payments, and approve purchase order requests
- Develop business relationships with suppliers and clients
Qualifications What You Must Have: - Bachelor’s degree in finance, supply chain management, logistics or related field, or at least 10 years of experience in operations and inventory management
- Prior experience in inventory management
- Inventory Cycle Counting experience
- Inventory Accuracy Maintenance experience
- Team management and leadership experience
- 3+ years of experience in a physical inventory lead role, warehouse operations leadership, distribution, or logistics environment
- Experience with physical assets and inventory
- Superior Excel skills, able to develop and execute reports in a timely and accurate manner
- Strong analytical and structured problem-solving capabilities with a focus on root-cause investigations
- Executive presentation skills

What Would Make You a Stand-out - SOX, ISO Audit experience of Inventory and Materials Management Processes strongly desired
- Understanding of problem-solving methods such as Root Cause Analysis, Lean implementations, Six Sigma operational and Visual Management standards preferred
- Experience in RT Pro, SAP, Sphere
- Experience working in the entertainment industry
- Experience developing business relationships with key stakeholders such as suppliers and clients
Additional Requirements - Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite, five days a week.

Salary range: $100,000 (bonus eligible)
