PathPoint is seeking a full-time Job Coach (Direct Support Professional) in San Luis Obispo, CA. Job Coaches support adults with disabilities at their place of work, helping them maintain successful employment and enjoy the satisfaction of a job well done. Evening and weekend availability is needed for this position.

What You'll Do:
- Accompany individuals to their place of work, observe their abilities, and identify any areas for improvement. Provide feedback and assistance to increase productivity and encourage positive work behavior.
- Coach and counsel individuals on workplace issues/concerns, and advocate for them when needed.
- Assist individuals in completing work-related paperwork, such as time cards, time off requests, tax forms, and benefits enrollment.
- Maintain good relationships with employers and workplace supervisors, and act as liaison between employers, workplace supervisors, and individuals.
- Assist in developing and implementing an individualized plan for coaching individuals to work more independently, with the eventual goal of complete self-sufficiency.
- Actively participate in meetings and discussions regarding individual's progress.
- Maintain daily logs and reports.
What We're Looking For:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Prior experience supporting or instructing individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required; if you are interested in this opportunity but do not have directly relevant experience, we'd still love to hear from you!
- Ability to coach/train others in a positive way.
- Ability to work independently, including creating own schedule and demonstrating a high level of accountability and dependability
- Must have reliable transportation for daily travel in the Santa Maria area, which may include visiting multiple sites in one day.
- Culturally sensitive and aware of differences in employees based on cultural backgrounds; aware of one's own culture and how someone's background may lead to biases; has the skills and resources needed to work with employees from all different cultures and the ability to avoid making biased assumptions based on someone's culture
Compensation: This is an hourly, non-exempt position starting at $19.00 per hour. The pay range is $16.03-$24.04** an hour.
Bilingual: If you are bilingual (Spanish or ASL), the starting wage is $19.30 per hour and the pay range is $16.83-$25.24**.
**The pay range is subject to change based on a variety of factors, and the maximum pay represents the wage potential based on attaining the highest level of position experience, talent, and responsibilities.
