Job description
Hire Resolve’s client is a leading Civil Engineering firm that is urgently seeking the expertise of a Traffic Designer in Tampa, FL.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of Interchange Justification / Interchange Modification (IJR/IMR) Reports for approval by FHWA.
- Prepare designs and ensure the development and delivery of traffic control plans, signing/pavement markings, and traffic signal plans for various highway and roadway planning and design projects.
- Propose changes to existing highways and bridge sites to improve traffic flow and safety or design traffic systems for new highway projects.
- Approve drawings and quality control plans and make safety recommendations to ensure projects meet contract requirements.
- Provide traffic engineering studies and designs efficiently and cost-effectively to obtain client acceptance.
- Responsible for the design and planning of transportation/traffic systems and facilities for a variety of civil projects and proposes changes to existing roadways or devices to improve traffic flow and safety.
- Assist in preparations of final design documents (Plans, Specifications, and Estimates) associated with traffic signal installations, signing and striping layout, and temporary traffic control/detour/staging plans.
- Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects with few complex features.
- Collaboratively use judgment to determine adaptations in methods for non-routine aspects of assignments.
- Coordinate work with engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program (Technical experience may be substituted for the Degree).
- Fundamentals of Engineering/Engineer in Training certification required within 6 months of hire.
- 3+ years of traffic engineering experience in federal, state, and municipal level projects desired. An advanced degree may be substituted for work experience.
- Experience in TX, FL, SC, NC, & GA highly desired.
- Knowledgeable in job cost, scheduling, safety, and construction concepts.
- Candidates must possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), organizational skills, attention to detail, be proactive in nature, and have exceptional technology skills.
