Job description
Adecco is currently recruiting for a Service Manager to work first shift in New Bedford, Massachusetts. This is a permanent direct hire opportunity paying $60,000 annually, plus commission. This is not a temp assignment.
The Service Manager has a key role with the main objective of managing and growing Repair & Maintenance or “Service” sales. They are responsible for customer retention by ensuring that the department provides the highest level of customer service with exceptional client communication. They are required to demonstrate expert knowledge to educate and guide clients to update or replace outdated products. The Service Manager works closely with design, estimating, production, scheduling, and accounting to provide the timeliest execution of all requests.

Requirements:
- Three-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and customer service experience.
- Computer proficient. Knowledge of: Microsoft Office Word, Excel and internet research.
- Ability to perform basic math functions.
- Ability and desire to sell and grow the Department Sales and Profitability and achieve Department Goals.
- Strong sense of urgency.
- Ability to react quickly in situations.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of basic math skills
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- A high school diploma or GED.
Sales experience preferred but not required.
Duties:
- Develop and implement sales strategy to increase revenue to meet company revenue and profitability goals.
- Receive all incoming service requests via email, phone or various service portals - responding to each request within 24 hours.
- Review client requests and provide service rates, estimated budgets, and scheduling expectations.
- Track and manage all service requests from initial contact through invoicing to ensure the most timely and seamless experiences.
- Consult with in-house team of technicians, supervisors, and others to successfully manage customer needs.
- Communicate with Design and Estimating teams to create designs and proposal for customers when required.
- Obtain customer billing information and submit to Accounting for proper processing.
- Setup new clients and create cloud-based folders.
- Process and track all service work orders.
- Research past service history and include on new work orders.
- Research existing site conditions, providing current photos of existing signage and access.
- Coordinate onsite access with customers.
- Prepare crew emails to Service Technicians with detailed instructions for each job.
- Hire subcontractors, police details, and other vendors as required.
- Monitor progress in the field and support Field Service Team as needed.
- Monitor and track the status of service calls.
- Update clients on work performed in real-time.
- Communicate the status of all service calls with the Scheduler on a daily basis.
- Track parts on order with Purchasing Dept.
- Notify the customer and appropriate internal staff when changes occur, ensuring clear communication on all service delivery expectations.
- Ensures all required documents are received from the Service Tech’s to complete Invoicing.
- Close out completed service calls with Accounting.
- Lead the internal Service Ambassador Program to help increase service.
