Job description
Position / Title: Community Resource Specialist
The vision of the Community Resource Department is to serve as the dedicated staff for studying, protecting, and improving health within Southwest Louisiana. We do this by facilitating local groups working together to prevent disease and make healthy living options accessible. Manage regional efforts to identify and provide supervision and technical assistance to dedicated teams’ members, healthcare workers, and community volunteers interested in improving health disease prevention and access to healthy living resources.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Data Management: - Oversee the collection, organization, and management of program-related data and information.
- Develop and maintain databases to track program metrics, participant information, and other relevant data.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy and generate regular reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Data Collection and Analysis: - Design and implement data collection methodologies, including surveys, interviews, and other data- gathering techniques.
- Analyze collected data to identify trends, measure program effectiveness, and inform decision- making processes.
- Prepare reports and presentations based on data analysis to communicate program outcomes and impact.
Program Coordination: - Coordinate program activities, including scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless execution of program initiatives.
- Monitor program progress and adjust as needed to achieve program goals and objectives.
MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Manage administrative tasks related to program operations, such as budgeting, procurement, and documentation.
- Prepare and maintain program-related materials, including manuals, guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
- Support the development and submission of grant proposals, reports, and other program-related documents.
AHEC Programs: - Coordination of needs assessments, participants, development of activities, reporting, implementation, and evaluation or tracking for all AHEC programs.
- Interacts and communicates effectively with participants for scheduling events and programs.
- Participates in outreach activities pertaining to recruiting and meeting with current and possible AHEC program participants.
- Participates effectively with other agencies on projects which support AHEC programs.
- Successfully create and oversee program social media outreach.
- Creatively develop educational and marketing materials for the program.
- Successfully oversees all public communications on the project and all Community outreach on the project to ensure marketing and outreach are provided to the priority populations.
- Develop a tracking system for all AHEC programs to keep up with AHEC participants to provide pipeline opportunities.
- Assist the Career & Professional Development Director with analyzing reporting to determine possible programs and projects.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education – Training – Experience - Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., public health, health administration, social sciences) required; Community outreach would also be relevant as well as higher education master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in data management, program coordination, or related roles within the healthcare or public health sector.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools, database management systems, and Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
- Knowledge of healthcare education, workforce development, and rural health issues is desirable.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions **Stakeholder Engagement: **- Communicate with program participants, community members, and other stakeholders to gather feedback and assess program impact.
Represent SWLAHEC at meetings, events, and conferences to promote program initiatives and build partnerships.
