Location: REMOTE

Position: Land Surveyor/Civil Engineer

Pay: $28.50/hr

Job Summary:

The Land Surveyor/Civil Engineer is responsible for providing route scenarios through feasibility study(s) and/or surveys based on supply location(s) to GE Vernova Onshore Wind’s North American project sites. This position will identify potential risks with roads, bridges, turning radii, construction and various other obstacles which would prevent or delay component delivery to site and make recommendations for improvements to meet transportation needs; and/or provide new routes which meet delivery to site for wind turbine components.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Travel to conduct transportation site audit of project sites and routes prior to shipment of wind turbine components

• Assess commodity and equipment configurations needed to transport freight; recognize and alert transportation suppliers when freight requires additional special handling requirements

• Review transportation supplier’s logistics plan to include route, permits, and equipment type for safety, quality, and efficient freight delivery

• Collaborate with Project Management Team/Site Monitors/Truck Bosses for wind project fulfillment. Provide awareness of potential fulfillment risk, site receiving challenges, and general support needed

• Develop and maintain relationships with appropriate State/Local Departments of Transportation to ensure adequate coordination is made between the logistics service providers and the project sites.

• Participate in various meetings to monitor shipment status, delay issues, and to perform problem resolution to ensure fulfillment is achieved

• Collaborate and contribute to accurate site audit reports for initial and follow-up surveys both independently and in support of other Land Surveyor/Civil Engineer personnel

• Develop a strong understanding of standard, heavy haul, and specialized truckload transportation equipment. Equipment types range from: dry vans to flatbeds to 9-13 axle equipment and Schnabel set-ups.

• Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required to meet GE demand plan

• Frequent travel is required.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience with minimum BS/AS degree in Civil Engineering, Construction or Project Management or related field -OR- 3+ years land/related survey or heavy-haul/over-dimensional logistics experience

• Proficiency in MS Office programs; Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint

• Proficiency in Google Earth, Google Maps, and/or other satellite-based mapping software

• Successful completion of Drone Pilot training, exam, and licensure as a “Remote Pilot - Small Unmanned Aircraft System” upon hire

• Fluent and proficient in both spoken and written English

• Valid Passport
