Cardiovascular Program Assistant

Summary:

We are currently looking for a summer intern for 2024 to assist our Cardiovascular department by evaluating the electrophysiological effects of antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) treatment in an ex-vivo study of murine cardiomyocytes. The study is anticipated to affect the preclinical evaluation of a treatment for a rare, genetic cardiovascular disorder. In addition to learning about ASO technology and the drug development process, the intern will gain hands on experience with Multi Channel Systems multielectrode arrays (MEAs). A thorough understanding of ion physiology and electrical engineering is highly desirable. Proficiency with Python and Jupyter Notebooks preferred.

The pay scale for this position is $18 to $23 per hour.
