Job description
Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Program Manager is responsible the oversight of day to day operations and activities in the program's housing for survivors of human trafficking. Develops and implements programming that assists participants in developing a sense of community, safety, self-reliance and connections. Monitors housing participants' progress and provides proactive, immediate and/or timely interventions in response to behaviors that jeopardize the safety and wellbeing of program participants, staff or the community. Implements and coordinates programming for participants that focuses on health and wellness and alternative strategies for engagement and retention in services. Coordinates services provided by community partners to make them accessible to participants provide alternative opportunities for emotional healing and promote safety. Responsible for providing supportive services to victims/survivors of human trafficking through a client driven wellness and recovery model that is strength based, culturally relevant, trauma informed, consumer driven, and outcome based. Participates in law enforcement operations and 24 hour "on-call" emergency calls placed by the San Diego Human Trafficking Task force and other local law enforcement agencies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work or related field with minimum of two years providing case management, supportive services and/or housing specific services OR work experience in housing-related support services required ; Master's degree in behavioral health with BBS registration (ASW, AMF, APCC) preferred.
- Multi-lingual or Bi-lingual strongly preferred, with strong preference given to English/Spanish.
Responsibilities
- Utilize evidenced based practices to engage victims of human trafficking in participation of services that are client centered, culturally appropriate, and trauma-informed to improve the short and long-term health, safety, and well-being of
- Assist with the program housing screening process to determine prospective participants' ability to live independently and/or determine level of care
- Provide on-call 24/7 immediate response services for urgent law enforcement
- Provide crisis intervention to participants living in program housing and maintain good communication of potential concerns and safety issues to Program Manager, property manager and appropriate
- Develop and implement programming for housing participants that focuses on health and wellness and alternative strategies for engagement and retention in
- Conducts weekly unit inspections to ensure unit cleanliness for each participant occupying the programs housing and elevates all failed unit inspections to ensure safety and
- Coordinatesservicesprovidedbycommunitypartnerstomakethemaccessibletoparticipantsprovide alternative opportunities for emotional healing and promote
- Help clients integrate into the community by teaching them how to use community resources and recreational activities.
- Engage clients in therapeutic activities including arts and crafts, drama, music, dance, sports, games, and community reintegration field trips to help maintain or improve a client's physical, social, and emotional well-being.
- Maintain linkages with community referral sources and educational and employment
- Assists in program development, maintenance and resource identification and identification of potential barriers to program
Schedule/Compensation
- M- F 8 hours a day (9-5:30pm; includes minimum one evening per week)
- BA- {24.15 - 26.56}] MA + BBS registered {$34.50-$37.95} + bilingual pay. Salary will commensurate with experience and education. EEO.
Additional Requirement
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with a good driving record.
- Willing to use own, properly insured, reliable vehicle for the job (mileage reimbursed).
- Employment subject to clearances, incl uding background finger printing checks, driving record, tuberculosis testing, and drug testing.
