Director of Human Resources - Gardena, CA
We are seeking a dynamic Human Resources Manager to spearhead and guide the local human resources department. In this influential role, you will lead initiatives related to compliance, recruitment, compensation, employee relations, performance management, affirmative action, and the enforcement of company policies and practices.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Take charge of the administration of diverse human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes, investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, and comprehensive training and development efforts.
• Devise and implement proactive workforce plans to identify and address challenges in areas such as turnover, diversity, absenteeism, and performance management. Leverage metrics for informed decision-making and strategic insights.
• Handle employee relation matters, including investigating complaints and harassment allegations, and propose corrective actions in alignment with state, federal regulations, and company policies.
• Lead the development and execution of the plant's Affirmative Action plan (AAP), ensuring compliance with OFCCP regulations and achieving AAP goals throughout the entire employment lifecycle.
• Ensure strict adherence to company policies and procedures, maintaining compliance with federal and state laws.
• Align HR programs, practices, and policies with overarching management business goals to drive organizational success.
• Direct career development initiatives within the department and the HR team, identifying and addressing training needs for plant, function, and individual performance enhancement.
• Manage the annual talent planning and performance management processes within the plant.
• Administer innovative compensation and reward strategies to attract, motivate, and retain top-tier organizational talent.
• Develop and implement a strategic hiring and placement strategy for candidates across various sourcing channels, setting and achieving goals, adhering to timelines, and analyzing relevant metrics.
Key Qualifications:
• Showcase exceptional presentation, communication, interpersonal, influence, and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with ADP Workforce is a valuable asset.
• Possess robust project management experience.
• In-depth understanding of local employment and labor laws.
• Exhibit meticulous attention to detail, delivering superior service to both internal and external customers.
Education/Experience:
• Hold a Bachelor's degree (B.A) in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field from a reputable college or university.
• Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Accumulate 5-7 years of progressive experience in the field of Human Resources.
• Preferred qualifications include PHR/SHRM-CP certification.
