Mainframe Developer

Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. (Master's degree preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in mainframe development using programming languages such as COBOL, PL/I, Assembler, or others.
- Proficiency in mainframe technologies and tools such as JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, IMS, TSO/ISPF, and z/OS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications and systems using programming languages such as COBOL, PL/I, Assembler, or others.
- Analyze business requirements and technical specifications to develop detailed design documents and coding standards.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code according to established coding standards and best practices.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and system testing to ensure the quality and reliability of mainframe applications.
- Debug and troubleshoot issues in mainframe applications, identify root causes, and implement solutions to address them.
- Collaborate with other developers, testers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions on time and within budget.
- Document technical specifications, code changes, and system configurations for future reference and maintenance.
- Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in mainframe development and apply them to improve our development processes and methodologies.
Qualifications:

- 3+ years of experience in mainframe development using programming languages such as COBOL, PL/I, Assembler, or others.
- Proficiency in mainframe technologies and tools such as JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, IMS, TSO/ISPF, and z/OS.
- Strong understanding of mainframe development methodologies, standards, and best practices.
- Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex business requirements and technical challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Certifications such as IBM Certified Application Developer or Certified Systems Programmer are desirable.
