Job Description:
As a Commercial Estimator, you will play a key role in the pre-construction phase of our projects by providing accurate cost estimates and proposals. Working closely with our project management and sales teams, you will analyze project specifications, assess materials and labor requirements, and prepare comprehensive bids to secure new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to understand the scope of work and project requirements.
Conduct quantity take-offs and cost analysis for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
Utilize estimating software and tools to prepare detailed cost estimates, including material pricing, labor hours, and overhead expenses.
Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain pricing and quotes for materials and services.
Develop accurate and competitive bid proposals that meet client specifications and budgetary constraints.
Present estimates and proposals to clients, architects, and project stakeholders, addressing any questions or concerns as needed.
Participate in bid review meetings and negotiations to finalize contracts and secure project awards.
Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and project documentation for reference and future analysis.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
Proven experience as a commercial estimator or similar role in the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, and building codes.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, PlanSwift).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and vendors.
Strong organizational and time management abilities, with a focus on meeting project deadlines and objectives.
