Position: Interventional Radiology Technologist 
Location: Rapid City, SD
Duration: 2 Months

Job Summary:
The Interventional Radiology Technologist will perform a variety of technical procedures under the supervision of radiologists in the Interventional Radiology (IR) department. They will be responsible for preparing patients, operating imaging equipment, assisting with procedures, and maintaining accurate records.

• General Information:
  • Beds: 2 - IR suites; 1 Overflow room
  • Minimal Experience: 1-2 years of IR experience (required); 2 years (preferred)
  • Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes, with at least 2 years of experience
  • Travelers must live 100 miles away from the facility
  • Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler
• Patient Types: Discussed during interview
• Required Certifications:
  • Tech: BLS, ARRT or RCIS
• Required Education:
  • Tech: ARRT certification or RCIS is required
• Skills required:
  • Tech: Sterile technique/scrub technique, Siemens machine, EPIC, Circulation for procedures
  • Comfortability with: Dialysis patient population (Shuntogram, Permacath); Port placement; Drain/Catheter placements; Embolizations
• Charting System: EPIC (required), Omnicell
• Floating: Yes, may be asked to float to other areas as needed (within or below scope)
• Orientation: Tech: 5 days (8 hr shifts)
• Scheduling: Variable day shift; discussed during interview
• Call:
  • One weekend every 3 weeks – Fri/Sat/Sun – 24 hr call (Fri 1700-Mon 0700)
  • One overnight call each week – (1600-0700)
• Weekend rotation: See above; call only
• Holiday Expectations: Required; in rotation
• Approval of time off: Must go through Manager
