About the Role & Team
Walt Disney Imagineering is the master planning, creative development, design, engineering, production, project management, and research arm of The Walt Disney Company’s Parks and Resorts segment. Representing more than 100 subject areas, the dedicated corps of Imagineers are responsible for the creation of Disney resorts, theme parks and attractions, hotels, water parks, real estate developments, regional entertainment venues, cruise ships, and new media technology projects.
As part of the Technology Studio, we are looking for a versatile software developer intern to develop apps, platforms, tools, and technologies that enable and empower capabilities to build new experiences for guests around the world.
What You Will Do
As a Software Developer Intern within the Technology Studio, you will have the opportunity to:
-Develop & maintain software that helps solve unique and complex problems within our ecosystem of apps through design, implementation, and testing.
-Work with world-class creative teams and translate their ideas into ground-breaking technical capabilities.
-Work & collaborate with other software engineers, product teams, platform teams, creative teams, and leaders.
-Participate in agile ceremonies, code reviews, and brainstorming sessions, and enjoy crafting magical experiences.
-Be a part of the magic-making process – sometimes that means helping to test out new ideas or new ways of bringing characters or stories to life; every day can be a unique and different adventure!
Required Qualifications & Skills
-Knowledge and experience with modern software development practices, including but not limited to applying code reviews, automated testing and coverage, SCA, version control, CICD, configuration management, and clear documentation.
-Keeps proficient in the industry, staying ahead of emerging solutions, technologies, and capabilities to produce effective solutions, as well as helping develop new insights and POCs.
-Proven technical writing, documentation, and communication skills.
-Experience in at least one of C, C++, C#, JavaScript, or Python.
-Knowledge of AI models and MLOps standard methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
-Familiarity and/or experience with Unreal Engine, Unity, MS Visual Studio, and Language Models
-Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure
-Experience with analyzing, evaluating, developing, and updating AI models
-Experience working in a team environment and familiarity with Agile processes
-Proven ability to learn new software languages and work within sophisticated systems
Education
Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher, or graduated within the past 6 months from an accredited college/university, earning a degree majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related.
