- Ensure customs related processes and procedures of the regional legal entities and their documentation are compliant and always up-to-date.
- Administer, validate, and archive all import and export transactions. Maintain tracking and archiving system for all import and export documents from suppliers and carriers.
- Ensure all Customs Master Data, including classifications, are accurately documented, communicated, and maintained in SAP.
- Point of contact with customs authorities, lead the company responses to queries and audits (in close alignment with FHCS Global & CTC Corporate Customs functions), ensuring that the most cost effective and compliant solutions are identified.
- Proactively organize for corrective actions resulting from self-assessments and (internal and external) audits on customs processes.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of all import/export regulations (such as Rules of Origin, National Tax rules, incoterms).
- Own relationship with customs brokers ensuring accurate and timely processing of import/export declarations, post entry audit processes, KPI determination and tracking, and corrective actions.
Qualifications arrow_right
- Bachelors degree in business or related field, plus at least 5 years of experience in a related position.
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) and/or Certified Export Specialist (CES) required.
- Experience with trade and customs federal regulations across US and Canada required (Mexico preferred).
- Experience with US ACE and CA CARM Portals.
- Strong knowledge of Incoterms, Tariff Classification, and Preferential Duty Treatment.
- Excellent Knowledge of the relevant MS Windows – software (Excel, Word, PPT) and ERP systems (SAP strongly preferred), with ability to manage large data base.
- Strategic business acumen.
- Ability to travel 25-30%; mainly to Canada (Quebec and Toronto), some Germany.
