As the Events & Group Services Manager at Visit Greater Lima, you'll play a pivotal role in showcasing Lima/Allen County as the ultimate destination for conventions, meetings, tournaments, reunions, and special events. Your mission will be to attract and generate leads, collaborate with local stakeholders, and ensure every event leaves a lasting impression. Responsibilities: Meetings, Conventions, and Group Event Services: • Conduct research to generate prospective opportunities and plan promotional sales information visits. • Reach out to corporate, association, religious, fraternal, and sports organizations to promote Allen County as an event site. • Provide event consultation, meeting planning assistance, and act as a liaison between planners and local facilities. • Host bid presentations, site visits, and attend trade shows to secure events for Lima/Allen County. Tourism Management (Group Tour/Motorcoach): • Act as a liaison between the CVB (Convention Visitors Bureau)and tour planners, promoting Lima/Allen County for tours. • Develop and coordinate motorcoach business, create local tours, and conduct FAM tours for tour organizers. • Maintain strong relationships with local businesses, attractions, and hotels to facilitate tour group needs. Dimensions: • Keep an updated database of events and conventions and prepare semiannual reports for the Executive Director. Decision Making Authority: • Make informed decisions on promotional calls, trade show attendance, and logistics, ensuring alignment with the budget. Collaboration: • Collaborate with internal CVB staff, volunteers, external organizations, business leaders, and government officials. • Supervise volunteers as needed. Qualifications: • Maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and travel when required. • Ability to routinely lift and move 35 pounds. • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and CRM software. • Marketing and sales expertise. • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience. • Knowledge of the hospitality and tourism industries is preferred.
