Job Title: Merchandise Manager
Reports to: Production Manager

OVERVIEW
The Merchandise Manager oversees the successful operation of both venue and artist merchandise. As a brand ambassador to Whitewater, the Merch Manager serves as the primary liaison between the artist merchandising representative and the venue, providing them with an informative advance and a great on-site experience designed to maximize their sales and the guest experience. The Merch Manager is also responsible for selling venue merchandise on-site and fulfilling online. The optimal candidate has a magnetic, outgoing personality, is meticulous with details, and can take both a creative and analytical approach to sales. This position is for the 2024 concert season and will require a commitment to be available for all concert events on nights and weekends throughout the spring, summer, and fall for the duration of the season, as well as maintaining a flexible schedule to be available for advancing, hiring and training, inventory, and shipping and receiving, as required by the position.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Execute seasonal business strategies and in-venue merchandising to support and maximize sales
• Maximize space, set up queues, and ensure all merchandise areas are safe, clean, and well-organized.
• Build and maintain venue merch display and inventory for optimal sales.
• Manages all venue-owned merchandising equipment and inventory and ensures proper working condition
• Maintain and update online store operations to include inventory, customer communication, and fulfillment
• Quickly and carefully fulfill each guest’s order while providing outstanding customer service in a friendly, welcoming demeanor at all times that meet or exceed customer service standards.
• Serve as a liaison between artist representative and venue management to advance all merch operations for upcoming event
• Oversee any inventory procedures
• Support successful sales operations by hiring, training, and mentoring additional merchandise sellers as needed to ensure an exceptional experience for all guests and artist representatives.
• Complete all required reports promptly, including artist settlements, venue reconciliation, inventory, and payment requests.
• Ensure team compliance with Whitewater Amphitheater policies and procedures, as well as any health and safety regulations
• Follow all venue policies including social media policies.
• Report all incidents, accidents, needed repairs, and customer feedback to the General Manager at the end of each show.
• Other duties as assigned by venue or production management.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
• Proficiency with Google Suite including Google Drive, Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Sheets and/or the Microsoft Word equivalents to complete all work.
• Proficient in handling cash and processing payments on a variety of processors.
• Basic business proficiency with an understanding of the importance of forecasting and timely reporting
• Must be knowledgeable or willing to learn to work with touch screen systems, payment processors, computers, money counting machines, and other office or event equipment as necessary.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Previous event, venue, or artist merchandising experience preferred.
• Previous customer service in a hospitality-forward environment preferred.
• High-volume retail experience is desirable in the absence of event or venue experience. 
• An appropriate attitude and interpersonal skills will take precedence in the hiring process.
• Candidates with documented prior experience will take preference.

COMPENSATION
Prior experience will determine pay. This position compensates with a combination of an hourly rate (starting at $16/hour), a day rate on show days (starting at $100), and permits tips. This position has year-round part-time employment available.
