Student and Campus Life (SCL) inspires transformation in all Cornell students on their journey of individual, academic and personal evolution. Our division is comprised of leading student affairs experts who support our campus on pressing student life matters including public service, health, wellness, social justice, residential living, food services, sports, recreation, career services, and student activities and organizations including sorority and fraternity life. We provide support and services to roughly 25,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students on multiple campuses in the U.S. and abroad.

The Cornell University Physical Education Department is proud to offer one of the largest and most diverse Physical Culture Programs in the Ivy League. Over 500 courses are available, taught by experienced and gifted instructors. Thousands of undergraduates and some grad students attend these classes every semester. Through our broad-based programs, we try to educate students to live a healthy and holistic lifestyle now and after Cornell.

Athletics and Physical Education offers a diverse program of physical and outdoor education, recreational services, intramural sports and intercollegiate athletic competition, plus Wellness programs for faculty and staff and fitness centers for the entire Cornell community.

The Coordinator for Physical Education oversees the day-to-day operations of the fitness, weight training, dance, personal growth, and fencing courses offered to Cornell University students through the Physical Education department. As the lead for classes offered in these areas, the role develops courses, provides supervision and training for instructors, maintains equipment and supplies, in addition to teaching classes. This position also creates the Appel Fitness Center schedule, as well as works in conjunction with the Fitness Center staff on programming, with a goal of offering students a multitude of fitness opportunities on campus. The position may require evening and weekend hours.

This position is full-time, 10 months per year.
