Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare and file sales and use tax returns in compliance with state and local regulations. Ensure timely submission of all required documentation and payments.
- Handle the processing of corporate tax payments, including the preparation of checks and arranging for their timely mailing. Maintain organized records of all tax payments and related documentation.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of business tax returns.
- Collaborate with the finance team to gather and analyze financial data as needed for ad hoc reporting purposes.
- Stay updated on changes to sales and use tax laws and regulations that may impact the company's tax obligations. Ensure compliance with all relevant state tax laws and regulations.
- Maintain comprehensive and organized records of all tax filings, payments, and related documentation. Ensure adherence to internal control procedures.
- Successfully complete ad hoc projects.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in tax preparation and compliance, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of sales and use tax regulations and business tax laws.
- 3-5 years of experience
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
