The successful candidate for this position will serve as a Discipline Lead with responsibility for HVAC, utilities, plumbing, and/or fire protection scope on assigned projects. Job duties include:
• Participate in project/client meetings and represent the discipline with respect to scope, budget, schedule, staffing, change management, and progress
• Manage and lead the technical staff in the development of Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other project baseline documents to meet project requirements and goals
• With input from the technical staff, develop effort hour estimates, provide input to the project schedule, and develop staffing plans
• Develop and maintain a discipline control level schedule to track progress and forecast staffing needs
• Lead discipline implementation of Fluor's quality requirements system
• Monitor discipline scope and provide input to the project change management process as required
• Coordinate staffing needs including expected de-staff dates with the department manager
• Other duties as assigned
Basic Job Requirements
• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and sixteen (16) years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
• Mechanical or Architectural Engineering degree
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
• Ability to supervise and lead a diverse design team to work effectively with both internal and external organizations
• This position is designed to be performed at one of the Company’s main offices; however, a US remote or hybrid work arrangement may be considered for the preferred candidate.
Preferred Qualifications
• Professional registration (PE License) in mechanical or other relevant engineering field
• Life sciences & pharma industry experience
• Semiconductor & microelectronics industry experience
Other Job Requirements
• Experience leading, planning, and executing large complex industrial projects in an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company
