Job description

Responsibilities

Addictions Counselors perform professional duties in the assessment, case management, education, and treatment of clients and perform related administrative duties and recordkeeping in accordance with the standards and requirements of the Nevada Board of Examiners for Alcohol, Drug and Gambling Counselors.


They perform initial intake and evaluation of clients, prepare written treatment plans; monitor and document client progress in relation to treatment plans and prepare assessment, discharge, and progress reports and summaries as required. They also plan, develop, organize and conduct alcohol and drug abuse cessation and prevention classes, prepare course, conduct orientation and individual and/or group counseling and consult with, agencies, resources and professionals as needed.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Preference given to Bachelor’s degree in human services field.

Licensure: CADC-Intern Licensure through the Nevada Board of Examiners for Alcohol, Drug and Gambling Counselors. There is a board approved intern supervisor onsite to provide supervision.
Experience: Completion of internship hours in substance abuse counseling.


Level II:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Preference given to Bachelor’s degree in human services field.
Licensure: Licensure through the Nevada Board of Examiners for Alcohol, Drug and Gambling Counselors as a CADC or LADC.
Experience : At least one year experience.


Level III:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Preference given to Bachelor’s degree in human services field.
Licensure: Licensure through the Nevada Board of Examiners for Alcohol, Drug and Gambling Counselors as a LADC-S.
Experience: At least 3 years of experience.
