Job description
A Process Engineer with 3+ years of professional manufacturing experience is needed in Iowa. The Process Engineer will collaborate across Engineering, Operations, Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S), and Research and Development (R&D) teams. The Process Engineer will lead or participate in Root Cause Investigations (RCI), Process Hazard Analysis, and advanced troubleshooting of operations as well as supporting raw material qualifications and trials for new products.
Relocation expenses will be paid by the employer for qualified candidates (current U.S. citizens or residents authoriized to work for U.S. employers).
PROCESS ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with Engineering Department leadership and other cross-functional team members to continuously improve manufacturing methods and overall efficiency.
- Optimize processes to attain lower manufacturing costs, improve product quality and increase production productivity through reduced cycle times.
- Partner with EHS to mitigate safety risks throughout the manufacturing facility.
- Troubleshoot production issues and initiate necessary corrective actions as needed.
- Provides technical input for Management of Change initiatives.
- Participates in Capital Project planning and execution as a Core Project Team Member.
- Assist in the development of engineering specifications as required.
- Ensure project compliance with applicable codes, policies, performance standards, and specifications.
PROCESS ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering preferred
- Mechanical, Industrial, and Electrical Engineers with 5+ years' hands-on mechanical & chemical industry experience will also be considered.
- Outstanding organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills are required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed.
- High level of computer literacy and knowledge of CAD software needed.
- Ability to work with cross-functional groups across the organization.
- Knowledge of applicable codes, policies, standards, and best practices in industrial manufacturing preferred.
