- Job Summary Provides leadership to programs to design curriculum to ensure student progression and completion by the strategic design of program requirements and alignment of program requirements to current in-demand workforce skills. This position will prepare the institution's curriculum portfolio to proactively respond to new measures being put in place by the U.S. Department of Education. Responsibilities KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sets strategic direction and best practices, in collaboration with the Executive Director for the design of academic programs to aid in enhancing student progression and workforce alignment.
- Assess academic programs and diagnosis challenges related to student progress, graduation, and successful employment post-graduation.
- Present institutional and workforce data to stakeholders in a concise and persuasive manner that demonstrates the key areas for curriculum development.
- Collaborate effectively with program faculty to design academic programs for student success as it relates to the reduction in curricular complexity and alignment with current workforce demand.
- Educate and persuade faculty on best practices for curriculum design and assessment.
- Work to ensure programs are strategic alignment of program student learning outcomes, USG and SACSCOC policies, and workforce skills.
- Manage curriculum revisions in preparation for university-level review
- In partnership with the Office of Economic Development and Community, engage programs and local industry partners to design intentional education pathways.
- Promote the CPL process to programs during the curriculum design process.
- Manage the review and reporting process for Credit for Prior Learning opportunities.
- May manage team members as assigned Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in education or related field Required Experience Five (5) years of experience in designing academic programs at the undergraduate and graduate level Experience in and demonstrated willingness to collaborate across academic support units and with faculty Preferred Qualifications Preferred Educational Qualifications Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education Preferred Experience Experience reviewing programs for quality and alignment with outcomes Experience using job databases (e.g. Lightcast, JobsEQ, etc.) to analyze current workforce trends related to academic programs. Experience with the transfer credit process Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities ABILITIES Strong ability to analyze complex data and develop a clear concise summary of the findings Able to use Curricular Analytics to analyze program complexity and provide recommendations for ways to influence the complexity score Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time while meeting assigned deadlines Able to develop and sustain productive, positive, and accountable interpersonal relationships Able to participate in professional organizations and remain knowledgeable about best practices for curriculum design KNOWLEDGE Knowledge of different student groups, including groups such as adult learners and first-generation students, and their needs Knowledge of Curriculog and Acalog systems for the management of curriculum data and catalog publication. Other Information This is a supervisory position. This position does not have any financial responsibilities. This position will not be required to drive. This role is considered a position of trust. This position does not require a purchasing card (P-Card).
