This position is open to the public and all current city employees covered under the City’s Collective Bargaining Agreement with AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES (AFSCME) – BARGAINING UNIT 1, 3, 4 & 5. Only employees in City job titles in this bargaining unit are eligible to bid.

The mission of the Chicago Department of Public Health is to promote and improve health by engaging residents, communities, and partners in establishing and implementing policies and services that prioritize residents and communities. Under general supervision, supervises employees engaged in the performance of routine clerical duties and/or performs clerical duties of a complex nature; and performs related duties as required.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of progressively responsible clerical experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Selection Criteria
This position requires applicants to complete an interview which will include a test and written exercise and/or a skills assessment test as part of the interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral and written parts of the interview will be selected.
Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:
Residency Requirement: All employees of the City of Chicago must be actual residents of the City as outlined in 2-152-050 of the City of Chicago Municipal Code. Proof of residency will be required.
