PRIMARY FUNCTION Conduct field research trials, establish and carry out agronomic management of field research trials in the soybean breeding program and variety testing programs.

Research equipment optimization



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS


B.S. in agronomy, crop science, or a related field
At least 2 years of experience working in an agricultural research program.
Prior experience operating and maintaining field research equipment including planters, combines and tractors.
Experience hauling equipment.
Possess a driver's license when starting this position.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES


Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
Knowledge of common field research trial layouts.
Ability to quickly learn how to use specialized research farm equipment.
Willingness and enthusiasm for travel within the state to conduct or oversee field data collection and coordination of activities and data management with on-site staff.



APPOINTMENT STATUS
This is a 12-month, 100%-time academic professional position. The minimum salary for this entry level position is $50,000. We strive to provide a competitive salary, considering factors such as available market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements, and budget constraints. The final salary offer will be determined through a thorough assessment of these elements.
