Pharmacist
Inpatient Pharmacy - Rock Island, IL
Full Time, FTE 1.0
1st and 2nd shift + weekend rotation
Under the general direction of the Manger Pharmacy Inpatient Operations the Pharmacist:
- evaluates physician orders for appropriateness,
- completes order verification
- monitors medication effectiveness and safety
- validates products prior to dispensing
- assists with inventory management.
The Pharmacist will provide patient care services and also serve as a resource for drug information to the medical and nursing staff.
Responsible for o versite of Pharmacy Technicians working under the direction of the Pharmacist.

Order Verification
- Reviews medication orders and patient profiles for drug/drug and drug/allergy interactions and therapeutic duplications .
- Makes recommendations to providers and documents interventions.
- Participates in monitoring medications for safety and effectiveness .
Medication Dispensing
- Perform medication verification as required by law.
- Oversee technician preparation of medication orders including hospital compounded medications.
Departmental Support
- Participates in product selection, procurement and receiving of pharmaceuticals.
- Provides medication related education and information to providers.
Education:
- Graduate of an approved College of Pharmacy and possesses a BS degree in Pharmacy.
Experience:
- Comprehensive knowledge of hospital pharmacy practice preferred .
License(s)/Certification(s):
- Registered Pharmacist in the state of IL and IA
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Efficient time management and prioritization of work.
- Demonstrates accountability, flexibility, and teamwork.
