Expected pay for this position is $28.44 - $33.46/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

Reporting to the Supervisor of Cancer Services and the Supervisor of Patient Accounts is responsible for assessing financial needs of new and established cancer patients related to clinical care according to specified protocol. Provides services in areas of financial need to patients, families, and the health care team as appropriate. Provides patient and health care team education, links to resources and data collection in support of easing the financial hardship on patients and their families seeking oncological services at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.


Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The completion of a Bachelor's Degree or Masters Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work and a current state of Illinois license in social work (LSW).

Must complete adequate CEUs to maintain licensure.

2 years in medical field and experience working with the financial needs of patients.

Experience with Medicare health plans, COBRA regulations, Medicaid guidelines, PAP and co-pay assistance programs.

Effective communications skills, ability to manage a variety of tasks and problems at the same time.

High level of initiative and ability to self-direct to solve financial problems of patients; ability to work collaboratively with the treatment team.

Have a good knowledge of programs available to assist patients with their financial needs.

Have a working knowledge of Health insurance guidelines, programs and plans; patient assistance programs, co-pay assistance programs, Medicaid.
