We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Benefits Manager (Remote) to join our Human Resources team. The Benefits Manager will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing our employee benefits programs, ensuring they align with our strategic objectives and compliance requirements.    

Position Overview:

As the Benefits Manager (Remote), you will lead the development and execution of our employee benefits strategy. Your extensive experience in benefits administration, compliance, and vendor management will be instrumental in creating a robust benefits package that attracts and retains top talent. You will be responsible for analyzing benefits data, evaluating plan performance, and recommending improvements to optimize our offerings and align them with industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Benefits Strategy and Design: Develop and execute a comprehensive benefits strategy that aligns with our company's goals and supports our commitment to employee well-being and satisfaction.  
  2. Benefits Program Management: Oversee the administration, communication, and compliance of all employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, disability coverage, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, and other voluntary benefits.  
  3. Compliance and Regulatory Management: Stay up-to-date with federal regulations, such as the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), ERISA, and other relevant laws. Ensure all benefits programs are fully compliant, and work with legal and compliance teams to conduct audits and ensure adherence to regulations.  
  4. Vendor Selection and Management: Evaluate and select benefit plan providers and vendors, negotiating contracts, and managing relationships to ensure high-quality service delivery.  
  5. Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze benefits data and key metrics to evaluate plan performance, utilization, and cost-effectiveness. Prepare reports and present insights to the HR leadership team.  
  6. Employee Education and Communication: Develop effective communication strategies to educate employees on benefit options, changes to plans, and overall benefits offerings. Conduct workshops, webinars, and seminars to promote employee understanding and engagement.  
  7. Open Enrollment Management: Oversee and coordinate the annual open enrollment process, collaborating with the HR team to ensure a smooth and efficient experience for employees.  
  8. Benefits Issue Resolution: Act as a resource for employees in resolving benefit-related inquiries and issues. Address and resolve complex benefit-related concerns in a timely and professional manner.  
  9. Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess and enhance our benefits programs to remain competitive in the market and meet the evolving needs of our workforce. Recommend new benefit offerings and innovative solutions.  
  10. Leadership and Team Management: Provide guidance and leadership to the Benefits Specialists team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.  

Required Qualifications:

-Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.  

-At least 5 years of proven experience in benefits management.  

-In-depth knowledge of federal regulations governing employee benefits, including ACA, FMLA, ERISA, and COBRA.  

-Strong analytical skills and experience working with benefits data and metrics.  

-Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, with the capability to convey complex benefit information effectively.  

-Solid understanding of HRIS platforms and benefits administration software.  

-Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of driving results through collaboration and innovation.  

 

Preferred Qualifications:

-Experience managing multiple benefit plans for different employee cohorts strongly preferred.  

-Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CEBS) are a plus.  

-Substantial experience within a federal contractor company or a complex organizational setting.
