Job Description:
Snelling has an immediate opening for a Sonographer in Louisville, KY. This position will be responsible for performing a variety of cardiac ultrasound procedures. The Sonographer should be able to work independently and demonstrate a proactive, problem-solving attitude. Job duties include:
- The Cardiac Sonographer must be able to accurately identify and document any abnormalities
- Other responsibilities include providing comprehensive patient care, ensuring patient comfort during the procedure, and accurately reporting findings
- Interpret and evaluate cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology from the ultrasound images
- Follow established policies and procedures
- Participate in continuing education and professional development courses
- Maintain current certification in Cardiac Sonography from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Maintain effective communication with physicians, staff, and other healthcare professionals
Sonographer Requirements:
- Must be registered with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or CCI in Pediatric or Adult Echocardiography with completion of certification within one year of employment.
- Graduate of a program in Echocardiography approved by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association or documented equivalent education, experience and training.
- Previous experience performing echocardiography procedures preferred.
