Job Description
The duties of a Pediatric Dental Assistant are among the most comprehensive and varied in our dental office. Our Pediatric Dental Assistants are motivated, team-oriented professionals who possess the ability to work with children of all ages. Daily Duties - Verify and explain patient insurance benefits
- Assists with posting insurance payments and adjustments
- Verify patient medical history
- Take digital x-rays of children's teeth
- Prepare and breakdown treatment rooms
- Chart the doctor's observations, comments, and recommended treatments
- Accurately document treatments provided during each visit
- Assist with managing supply inventory
- Serve as the infection control officer, preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment
- Educate children and parents on proper brushing techniques and the importance of the recommended treatments
Qualifications - Successful completion of an accredited dental assistant training program (or 3 years of progressive experience)
- Expanded duty certification (preferred)
- Current CPR certification (required)
- Experience taking digital x-rays (required)
- Strong understanding of Slack and OpenDental
- Competency in Microsoft Office, Google Suites, email, social media, copiers, and multiple line phone system
- Ability to be a team player who enjoys working and assisting with others
- Must be a problem solver, task oriented, and pay attention to detail
