Podcast Producer Position

Join Our Vibrant Podcasting Team!

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic producer to join our dynamic Podcast team. We are the state's largest radio news service, known for its award-winning journalism and commitment to serving the diverse communities of New Hampshire. As a key member of our multi-media team, you'll contribute to the production and distribution of our weekly podcasts, "Outside/In" and "Civics 101," reporting directly to the Executive Producer.

About the Role:

This hybrid-eligible role combines remote work with occasional in-person requirements such as fund drives, team meetings, and all-staff events. We're ideally seeking candidates located within a maximum commuting distance of 100 miles, but we're open to considering other locations on a case-by-case basis. If you're passionate about narrative audio and intrigued by stories related to the environment, public policy, and civics, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Pitch and research compelling story ideas for "Outside/In" and "Civics 101."
Actively participate in the production process of "Outside/In," including researching, gathering tape, writing and reporting stories, mixing audio drafts, and contributing to group edits.
Assist in booking guests and providing production support for hosts and other producers across both podcasts.
Engage in audience growth activities such as promotional swaps, feed drops, and marketing pitches.
Collaborate closely with the Executive Producer, Director of On-Demand Audio, and other team members.
Contribute to station projects and initiatives, including election coverage, fundraisers, and special productions.
Support terrestrial broadcast segments and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of one year of experience in on-demand audio reporting or production, with a focus on narrative-driven storytelling.
Proficiency in multi-track audio editing/mixing using tools like Adobe Audition or similar platforms.
Strong office technology skills, including Google Docs, Microsoft Office, Slack (or similar), etc.
Ability to identify and book diverse, interesting sources for compelling audio content.
Excellent writing skills across various formats, including scripts, digital content, and social media copy.
Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality work under deadlines, both independently and as part of a team.
Uphold our Code of Journalistic Ethics with strong editorial judgment and integrity.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Experience with multimedia production, including social video/photo content creation.
Background in science, climate, environmental, or political journalism is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

Compensation & Benefits:

This is a full-time, exempt, SAG-Aftra union position with a competitive salary range of $53,700 - $62,649 annually. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including health and dental insurance, company-paid disability, flexible spending accounts, retirement savings plan with a company match, generous vacation time, holidays, sick and parental leave, and access to an on-site fitness center.

Join Our Podcasting Unit (The "CPU"):

Our Creative Production Unit is where innovative ideas thrive, audiences engage, and great audio meets journalism. Our small but mighty team collaborates to produce "Civics 101" and "Outside/In," along with regular segments for our terrestrial broadcast and engaging content across multiple platforms.

How to Apply:

Interested candidates should apply through the job opportunities page on our website, or via this link: Job Application Link. Please submit a resume, cover letter, and relevant samples of recent work.
