The SIS group is currently looking for a college intern to join its R&D design team. This is an mechanical or optical engineering role having exposure to mechanical or opto-mech designs using wide range of technologies from optics fabrication, product assembly tooling, precision measurement, robots, process control, etc. Specific assignment for this internship will include precision assembly tool development for optical interferometer assembly, optics thin-film coating, ultra-clean materials cleaning and critical optics surface inspection and performance specifications. 


The selected intern will be part of our R&D team, closely working with our in-house manufacturing partners to introduce new interferometer designs and technologies to Keysight advanced optics and interferometer production. This role will also have opportunities to learn from optics fabrication techniques, transforming start-of-art engineering designs to create very valuable and manufacturable tools, 3D tooling modeling and design documentation to successfully deliver our products to customers. Joining this internship, you will be able to develop your mechanical design skillsets from our advanced optical interferometer systems which include assemblies of lasers, optics, polarizing thin film coating, precision fiber optics, and electronics. 

 

Responsibilities:

This position will be working onsite in our Santa Clara, CA office; candidates must be willing to relocate to Santa Clara for the duration of the internship.

You will join the team and solve the challenging complexity of making most precision interferometer products through building great relationships with the team, enhancing your hands-on design experiences, and most of all, having fun and success to develop your future engineering career at Keysight Technologies.

Keysight Internship Program Requirements

Candidates who wish to be considered must be currently enrolled in a accredited college/university as of September 2024. Applicants who have graduated before September 2024 will not be considered unless they are starting a MS or PHD program after graduating.

 

 

Visa Sponsorship is not available for this position . Candidates who now or at any point in the future require sponsorship for employment (Not an Internship) visa status (e.g., H-1B Visa status) may not be considered.

 

 

California Pay Range: $31.26 $40.87 per hour

Based on experience, education and skills, most offers will be between the minimum and the midpoint of the Salary Range listed above.

 

Note: For other locations, pay ranges will vary by region.
