General Summary

The Department of Leadership and Counseling is seeking applicants for a tenure track faculty position with specialization in K-12 Educational Leadership to begin in August 2024. Faculty members are expected to focus on teaching, scholarship, and service as well as collaborate with colleagues across the university. The candidate will teach and mentor graduate students in an online environment and will work with doctoral students, chairing and serving on dissertation committees.

The Educational Leadership Program within the Department of Leadership and Counseling offers an undergraduate LEAD minor, three distinct master-level program tracks for aspiring educational leaders (Basic School Administration certificate, Central Office Administration endorsement, Master of Arts in Educational Leadership) and a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Educational Leadership. The K-12 master's level programs are accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and approved by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) for administrative certification and central office endorsement.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications:

The successful candidate will serve an eight-month, tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor rank. A competitive salary will be based on qualifications and prior experience. Eastern Michigan University may consider up to two years of credit for service at another institution at the Assistant Professor rank. The start date will be August 2024.
