Diesel Mechanic
$1500 sign on bonus
Guardian Fleet Services Inc., a leading provider of professional towing, recovery, and specialized transportation services, is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will work with our team to inspect, diagnose, and repair our fleet of tow trucks and wreckers. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of vehicle repair, from routine service to computer-aided diagnostics and air brake repairs. The ability to maintain clear repair records, keep a clean work area, and communicate effectively with co-workers is essential.
Responsibilities
- Conduct diagnostic tests on Diesel vehicles.
- Repair or replace the vehicles’ engine, transmission, steering mechanism, or braking system.
- Prepare work plans after fully scoping out the issues.
- Complete routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment, and brake checks.
- Maintain records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with customers and co-workers.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED and certification and training in diesel engine repair.
- Advanced knowledge of a vehicle, its electrical system, and the mechanisms of a diesel engine.
- In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms.
- Proficiency in the use of diesel engine diagnostic software.
- Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor.
- Ability to communicate calmly and effectively in English.
- Effective time management skills.
