Title and Summary
Director, Software Engineering The Role
Successfully lead major projects and complex assignments with broad scope and long-term business implications. Create solutions with high level of innovation, cost effectiveness, high quality and faster time to market. Lead day-to-day application development and maintenance activities to meet service level agreements (SLAs). Skilled at learning quickly, implementing new technologies, frameworks and tools and supporting multiple concurrent activities.
All about you
- Hands-on technical leader with experience in managing applications and multiple development teams.
- Excel in partnership with technical product managers, project managers and product leaders on requirements workshops and help to define joint product/technology roadmap.
- Experienced in developing low code/no code solutions using technologies such as Microsoft Power Automate, .NET etc.
- Drive projects that involve full stack development using Java, Spring, Microservices, Rest based APIs, frontend frameworks like ReactJS and Angular.
- Collaborate across engineering teams, A&T, BizOps, Infrastructure, security and other platform teams.
- Obsessed with results, and effectively communicate the OKRs to the team members.
- Self-motivated and adaptable to learning and understanding new technologies.
- Innovate for our Customers - take a long-term perspective to build systems and features.
- Interface with a diverse customer base to understand requirements, priorities, and processes
- Help define long-term development and business technology strategies.
- Hire, mentor, and retain best-of-class engineering teams and foster strong team culture.
- Perform Architecture and design Reviews to ensure compliance with all MasterCard standards.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 14-16 years of Software development experience with 8+ years as a People manager
- Hands-on experience in Java, REST API, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Jenkins, Spring and GIT
- Advanced knowledge of Software Engineering Concepts and Methodologies including low code/no code solutions
- Detail-oriented, proactive and able to function under pressure in an independent environment along with a high degree of initiative and self-motivation to drive results.
- Strong communication skills - both verbal and written – and strong collaboration skills.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
