Radiographer II – Mammography
Fulltime 40 hour Day/Evening position – with rotation – includes weekends and Holidays

Purpose:
Under the direction of a qualified radiologist, perform mammography and diagnostic radiology procedures at a technical level that does not require direct supervision. Assume responsibility of the Radiology department and the procedures that are being performed. Completes exams with documentation to be passed on to the radiologist for interpretation. Provides direct and indirect care to patients. Contributes to the education of staff and students.
Responsibilities:
- Is responsible for performance of routine or special procedures.
- Transfers and positions patients.
- Supports department and hospital based CPI activities by actively participating in the CPI process.
- Assists physicians in administering opaque media.
- Rotates within the Department or other areas and by shift as required.
- Maintains and correctly develops film by means of CR processors for localizations for mammography.
- Assists with scheduling of breast biopsy patients as assigned.
- Selects and operates equipment as directed.
- Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination.
- Complies with established occupational BBF and TB exposure policies.
- Provides protective devices as required.
- Performs quality assurance activities, as assigned.
- Provides protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
- Utilizes tracking equipment to ensure accurate record keeping and proper charging of patient exams.
- Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
- Maintains adequate records as directed on requisitions, etc.
- Use of PACS. Use of the Radiology Information System.
- Assists in performing first aid as necessary.
- Assists with procedures in mammography and sets up and operates equipment, takes radiographs as directed by the radiologist.
- Maintains orderliness and cleanliness.Secures and returns needed supplies.
- Demonstrates knowledge and ability to adapt to clinical treatment and instructional aspect of care to all stages of the life cycle and to various states of health and disease.
