Responsibilities:
- Other duties as assigned.
- Perform in-house labs, collect specimens for out-side labs perform quality control in accordance with organizational protocols.
- Applies and changes dressings.
- Maintains the confidentiality of inmate records.
- Accepts constructive criticism in stressful situations.
- Collect and record data regarding the physiologic and psychologic health of patients in a systematic manner.
- Apprise Medical Director and/or Director of Nursing of suspected child/adult abuse.
- Monitor patient vital signs at various stages of care.
- Completes diagnostics such as PFTs, PPDs and the collection of urine, sputum and other specimens.
- Review residents for admission to the facility.
- Participates as an intricate part of the interdisciplinary team for the people we support.
- Administer injections, prescribed medications, enemas etc., clean and dress wounds and assist with other basic medical care tasks.
- Attends scheduled clinical staff meetings and all staff day meetings.
- Conduct patient interviews.
- Maintains accurate, detailed reports and records.
Requirements:
- 2-4 Years of experience required.
- CPR certification recommended.
- Must possess and maintain a OH license as a professional LPN.
- Valid driver's license.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities preferred.
- Prefer experience in chemical dependency or psychiatric nursing.
- Licensed Practical Nurse.
- CPR Certification.
- Familiarity with hospital health, safety and sanitation standards and procedures.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Potential exposure to disruptive or uncontrollable patients.
- Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment.
- One or more years of experience in geriatric setting preferred.
- Good knowledge of MS Office and data entry.
