Clinical Diabetes Educator
Position SummaryThe Nurse Clinical Diabetes Educator is responsible for the assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the patients’ status, plan of care, and goal achievement. The perfect candidate is expected to uphold the most ethical and safe processes while keeping the care of the patient as a top priority. The position works closely with the entire multidisciplinary team and provides safe, effective, and culturally competent patient care in accordance with the organizational policies and procedures. This position performs the duties that support the Michigan Collaborative for Type 2 Diabetes (MCT2D) Program.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/SkillsKnowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four year college degree program in Nursing; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in Nursing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The position also requires possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan. May require a Bachelor's degree in Nursing; work experience in a particular area of nursing or health care; and/or certification as an oncology nurse. Obtains CDE certification within 3 years of hire.
Desired QualificationsClinical Diabetes Educator experience and certification prefered.

Work hours are typically 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. but may vary as necessary to accommodate clinic operations.
