That’s where you come in! EventLink is the premier tournament running software offered by Wizards of the Coast. As an agile team of highly effectively cross-discipline individuals, we come together to build software that empowers game stores to manage and run events across the world. Our team is looking for a well-rounded and dedicated Principal Engineer to join us and drive technical direction via action, and most importantly, clear communication. In this role, you will be a key engineering leader, and partner with leaders of all subject areas to deliver the features and stability our tournament organizers expect. We’re looking for someone who uses strong communication coupled with experience to direct and align large efforts. Someone who can speak to problems from client facing code in the browser, to the backend systems all the way down into infrastructure. In your pursuit of building high-quality and adaptable systems, you'll be expected to improve the team through communication, mentorship and collaboration. The Principal Engineer will work with their manager and the Technical Director to ensure a successful orchestration of projects. What You'll Do: Be a Technical Leader and foster technical direction to the overall engineering department. Be a supportive voice in crafting the long-term technical roadmap for major engineering systems, tech debt, performance and innovations. Proactively identify issues and fix difficult problems as an individual contributor. Help build out strong standard methodologies and performance metrics, while seeking continual improvement of the engineering organization. What You'll Bring: Authority Level C# and .NET Experience. Proven prior experience with Architecture/System Design. Solid understanding of infrastructure at scale and DevOps. Passion for directly implementing code changes, partnering with teams to improve processes and make sure changes are implemented. Experience working at all phases of development. Experience working with large code bases and long range technical planning. Mentor team members as needed to increase their capabilities and efficiency. Experience with giving and receiving feedback. Experience multi-tasking and adapting easily to change. Passion for making and playing games. Enthusiastic, positive, team-oriented; must have the ability to interact and collaborate with all departments and teams. Self-sufficient and self-motivated, can perform duties independently.
